The Extent to Which the European History Textbook for Fifth Literary Grade Reflects the Dimensions of Historical Sense from the Perspective of Subject Teachers

This study aims to assess the extent to which the European History textbook for the fifth literary grade incorporates the dimensions of historical sense, as perceived by history teachers. The research adopted the descriptive method, deemed most suitable for the study’s objectives. The sample consisted of 84 male and female teachers.
A questionnaire was designed specifically for this purpose, comprising five domains and a total of 41 items. The data were analyzed using arithmetic means and standard deviations as statistical tools.
Findings:- The relative weight of the dimensions of historical sense, from the perspective of history teachers, yielded an average score of 18 with a standard deviation of 0.16, indicating moderate inclusion.
- The study identified a notable deficiency in the spatial dimension, compared to the human and temporal dimensions, suggesting an imbalance in how historical awareness is addressed.
