Abstract

This study examines the concept of alienation through a comparative exploration of the thought of Edward Said and Abdul Karim Kasid, investigating how each portrays the condition of the human being in exile. It focuses on the tension between the loss of place and the creation of an alternative space, as well as on the extent to which cultural and linguistic dimensions shape each writer’s conception of exile. The study also discusses the tension between individual and collective identity in their writings and examines how exile is transformed from a merely spatial experience into an intellectual and linguistic condition that reshapes both the self and the world.
