A conference was held in Babylon and one of its decisions was to divide Alexander’s empire among his leaders, but Ptolemy I in the year (367-283 BC) was not satisfied with this division because of his desire to control the Levant because of his desire in obtaining rice wood that grows in the mountains of Syria and Lebanon, as well. The opportunity to control the trade route between the Gulf and Gaza, where the trade of the Far East comes in addition to the importance of the Levant in controlling and controlling the incense route in Mecca and Yathrib to Gaza (1).
