Abstract

Although Mohammad-Taqi Falsafi lived a life deeply rooted in religious devotion—spending the majority of his years in the pursuit of knowledge and in service to Islamic teachings—this did not prevent him from engaging actively with the political landscape of Iran. Falsafi came to be regarded as the unofficial spokesperson of the Iranian religious establishment, a role that placed him at odds with state policies and practices that contradicted religious values.

His outspoken stance led him to oppose government actions that clashed with his ideological convictions, while also subjecting him to state harassment and repressive measures under the Iranian regime. Despite these pressures, Falsafi maintained a persistent presence in the socio-political sphere, particularly during the reign of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and his efforts contributed to the broader resistance movements that culminated in the Iranian Islamic Revolution.
