This research examines the impact of social determinants on reproductive behavior in the city of Basra from a geographical perspective. These social determinants include marriage, divorce, poverty, customs and traditions, preference for male offspring. These determinants vary among different societal groups in Basra and have varying effects on households in the city, shaping their characteristics based on their locations and distinctive variables. These determinants significantly influence reproductive intentions, desires, and decisions, either towards control or expansion, and their impact on population growth. Furthermore, the temporal variation of these determinants has a significant influence on reproductive behavior and fertility rates among the population.
