Abstract

This research examines the position of the legislative authority in Iran regarding the tripartite aggression on Egypt in 1956, represented in Iran during that period by the National Consultative Assembly (Majlis) and the Senate. The war was launched in the aftermath of the nationalization of the Suez Canal on July 26, 1956, with Israeli forces initiating the aggression against Egypt on October 29, 1956. Subsequently, British and French military forces also joined the aggression.
