Abstract

This study dealt with the development of urban land uses in the city of the city and its impact on agricultural lands. From (173.77) hectares in 1920 to reach (1650.13) hectares in 2020, as it was shown that residential use occupied the largest percentage among other land uses, and this confirms that there is no balance between residential land uses and other land uses in terms of quantity and type of the functions they perform. It also showed the low percentage of educational, health, industrial and commercial uses of the land, as well as the encroachment of urbanization towards agricultural lands and palm groves in the study area.
