Abstract

This research examines the development of the translation movement in the First Abbasid Era as one of the fundamental pillars in the construction of Islamic civilization. It sheds light on the political, cultural, and scientific factors that contributed to the emergence and flourishing of this movement, particularly the support provided by the Abbasid caliphs to knowledge and scholars.

The research also addresses the role of scientific institutions and translators in transmitting the sciences of earlier nations, such as Greek, Persian, and Indian sciences, into Arabic.
