Abstract

This study investigates the impact of syntactic structures on the formation of literary texts. Grammatical tense in the poetry of Qasim Haddad emerges as a fundamental element in constructing the artistic significance of the text, as verbal and nominal sentences contribute to achieving rhythmic balance, while fronting and postponement play a role in highlighting temporal shifts and diverse expressive contexts.

The study also examines the semantic value of qad in the poetry of al-Mutanabbi, where its functions vary among affirmation, intensification, irony, and sarcasm, thereby reinforcing the rhetorical structure of the poetry and adding multiple semantic layers. It further addresses the linguistic construction of the poem Wa Harrā Qalbah, in which the importance of verbal and nominal structures becomes evident in conveying meaning and establishing significance. In addition, fronting and postponement endow the poetic discourse with a distinctive artistic effect, while ellipsis and reconstruction achieve concision without compromising semantic clarity. This reflects al-Mutanabbi’s mastery in employing syntactic techniques in the service of his poetry.
