Foundations and Techniques of Dialogue According to Imam Ali (Peace Be Upon Him)

Abstract

One of the eloquence traits of a speaker is possessing dialogical techniques through which he can influence the audience. Therefore, it was necessary to examine the discourse of Imam Ali and study it to uncover some of the dialogical techniques he employed in his speeches and conversations in situations that required dialogue with others. Dialogue is a fundamental basis for communication and influencing the audience. The methods and ways mobilized in dialogue reveal the speaker’s capability and mastery of dialogical techniques.
