Abstract

This research deals with the establishment of the Library of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in Iran and its scientific departments. Its founding dates back to 1909, coinciding with the first session of the Iranian National Consultative Assembly, making it one of the most prominent official scientific institutions providing services to researchers. The library is distinguished by containing authentic and diverse historical sources in many languages, which granted it a distinguished scientific position. The credit for its establishment goes to the representative of the Zoroastrian community, Kaykhosrow Shahrokh, who initiated the creation of a library within the building of the National Consultative Assembly, contributing to preserving the Iranian cultural and civilizational heritage. More than a century has passed since its establishment, and the library's primary objective was to support the legislative process by providing the necessary information to members of the Consultative Assembly, which contributed to enhancing their legislative knowledge and culture. The library is also considered an important scientific and cultural center, as it houses a large collection of manuscripts and rare historical documents, making it one of the most prominent scientific institutions in Iran.
