Abstract

This research aims to study intertextuality with preceding texts in the poetry of Muhammad Salih Abdul-Ridha and how he skillfully employs intertextuality as an artistic tool, drawing upon his extensive cultural experiences in language, literature, and media. The study explores the mechanisms of intertextuality and its critical functions in distinguishing between interwoven and interacting texts. The poet utilizes intertextuality in his poetry from a variety of sources, including religious intertextuality from the Qur'an, literary intertextuality from both classical and modern works, popular heritage, and mythological intertextuality.
