Abstract

Since its separation from India, Pakistan has witnessed numerous crises that have continuously threatened its strategic and national position. It has been in constant fear of its neighbor and archenemy, India, which has advanced in its nuclear program. In response to the developments in the Indian nuclear program, Pakistan began establishing the Pakistani Atomic Energy Commission. This commission quickly embarked on researching nuclear stations and facilities, similar to those with which India had cooperated. Pakistan collaborated with Canada to acquire a nuclear reactor, which was subsequently installed at the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant.
