Abstract

The study aims to reveal the importance and characteristics of metallurgical industries in the province of Basra, as well as the spatial analysis of these industries according to the districts and according to their type and classification according to type, size and sector in addition to clarifying the most important problems facing the growth and development of these industries in the province of Basra, first Industrial settlement, as it was concentrated. second The metal industries in the province of Basra were distinguished, which numbered (24) industrial types, with varying sizes for various metal products, which numbered (2110) industrial facilities, including small-sized (1886) facilities Medium-sized (220) facilities, and large-sized (4) facilities , (3) of which belong to the government sector. Third The metal industries also suffer from many problems, including poor financing and the openness of markets to preserve imported goods.
