The psychological unit of the students of the College of Education for the Humanities

Abstract

The study aimed to measure the level of psychological loneliness among students of the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah and to know the significance of the statistical difference in psychological loneliness among members of the research sample according to gender variable (males, females). Which consists of (26) items, and whose apparent validity was verified by presenting the items of the scale to a group of experts and arbitrators in the departments of Psychological Counseling and Psychology, and it obtained an agreement rate of more than (80%), and construction validity by finding the discriminatory strength of the items and the correlation degree The paragraph with the total score of the scale, the stability of the scale was also verified by re-testing, and the stability coefficient reached (0.79) as well by calculating the alpha-Cronbach equation, and the stability coefficient reached (0.81), and the results showed that the university students have a high level of psychological loneliness. And that there are statistically significant differences in the level of psychological loneliness in favor of females.
